This image was taken of an ancient tree on a relatively remote tundra/taiga in North West Lapland.  High up on the fell wind swept for a hundred and more years, from a young sprout in the early years of 1900.   By 1925, the tree would be a few meters tall, slow growing during the long Autumn, Winter and the Spring season.  With the endless summer sunlight, the trees grow 24/7, for 3 months. The death of this tree may have come around 1975. And for 40 years drying upright in the freezing -20’C winter months.
